The Bad News from PTCBox and what we can Learn from it

Well anyone who is a member of PTCBox more than likely know of the bad news they have recently disclosed. For anyone who does not know, PTCBox has stated that their Paypal account is limited. Paypal is the biggest payment processor, and consequently their main source of handling sales and payments. Not only that, but they have also disabled Payza as an option of payment. Which means current members more than likely will not be able to receive payments. They are unable to withdraw money to make payments. To their credit, they have shut down selling memberships and advertising packages. They have also asked members not to advertise their referral links on other paid advertising sites, and not to spend money promoting referral links in any situation. It is also to their credit that they openly updated their Paypal status to their members.

However, I myself still have some suspicions regarding the site and this whole situation. I find it extremely curious that right before the disclosure, they recently changed their membership upgrade programs, and the amount of ads you can view is in the process of being changed to a fixed rate. This was hyped up by many (including PTCBox themselves) to buy up the old memberships while you still can. (Once they are gone, you will not be able to). Okay so all that ended, the new model was in place, yet still being tested. Fast forward, maybe two or three days later, and we get this news dropped on us. I believe this was their way of getting as much money as they could before the inevitable happened.

If you are thinking of upgrading or adding additional multipliers to your current membership, our advice is to do it before the end of 31 August because this will give you a big advantage. You will benefit from the new "more and guaranteed PTC ads" model with the very high ratios of the old memberships.

Great advice...Maybe it is just the conspiracy theorist in me, but it looks to me like it was all setup this way. Something just does not add up right. With that said, I am not going to get too deep into the matter, because what is done is done. This is the risk that we take when joining any site to earn money online, especially most PTC sites. This is not a major surprise to me. Nor should it be to anyone.

What can we learn from this? Well I am always trying to make it clear that you should not for any circumstance invest your hard earned money into a PTC site, unless you are willing to lose the money. Sad but true. You never know what can happen. Do not do it unless you can do without the money. You are taking a risk regardless of the trustworthiness of the site. There are less than a handful of sites that I would invest in, and I always look to reinvest the money earned from the site itself. I am not out to lose money, if I so happen to lose money it will be the money earned from the site. We should also take note that while a site may seem trustworthy it is still no guarantee! I had PTCBox on my Most Trusted page recently, due to the fact that it was run by the same owner as MatrixMails, which has been a trusted site for 10 years (although it is declined in its service as well). Not to mention the amount of praise it had gotten, and in a quick time, it established itself as a trustworthy paying site. Not only was it paying, but it was also paying on time and instantly. The recent news is actually very disappointing, PTCBox had great potential to be one of the best if not the best PTC site ever. One can only hope that they fix their issues with Paypal, and the site can resume back to its high quality standard. For those of you who invested I really hope things work out for you.

For anyone looking for trustworthy sites to invest in, for the time being I would only recommend the following 3 sites: (remember my rule, and that no site is truly guaranteed, but these sites have a proven track record.)
  1. Neobux
  2. Clixsense
  3. Wordlinx

Below I will leave you with the sad news regarding PTCBox and its future.

Unfortunately, PtcBox's Paypal account has recently been limited by Paypal.

Paypal is the biggest payment processor and nearly all of the sales and payments are processed through Paypal. With the huge volume which PtcBox has reached, it will not be possible to survive, even for a short time. If we can not get our account back, PtcBox will eventually turn into a "ghost" web site and it will be remembered as a scam. Although it is still possible to get the account activated, the chances are low so instead of giving hope, we will have to accept the worst case scenario and make 3 very important calls regarding this matter before it's too late.

FIRST: As you know, once Paypal blocks an account, they will keep the balance for 6 months and then release it after 6 months. But 6 months is a very long time for PTC sites and who cares about money if PtcBox dies by then? This may come across as strange but we are calling everyone to open a dispute for us. Once again, please "OPEN A DISPUTE FOR ALL OF YOUR PURCHASES THROUGH PAYPAL". We can not withdraw the money but if you open a dispute they HAVE TO refund the money to customers even if we fail to reactivate the account. In this way at least the money will not stay in Paypal's bank account, and it will return to the members' accounts.

You can place a statement such as "Because the merchant's account has been limited, I want my money to be refunded" or alternative statements that come to the same effect.

SECOND: As of today, we've temporarily stopped selling advertisements and memberships.

THIRD: Do NOT promote your PtcBox referral links at other sites with "PAID ADVERTISEMENTS". Please do NOT spend any money to promote your referral links in any case. But if you have links which you don't have to pay money for, you can keep promoting your links.

Kind Regards,

  1. Sad but true, just like you say..

This is SolidSnake, one of PTCBox's forum moderators. Admin kept even us in the dark and his final hit was to switch GetPaidReview off without even letting us know.. It happened overnight and we lost all of our useful discussions there regardless of PTCBox.. So, we've all moved on and if you're interested to reunite, you can find most of us in our new forum called X-PTCBox.. I personally own the domain and the address is http://x.ptcbox.me

    Best Regards,
